Short Description:

Dye-sublimation fabric is a polyester-based textile engineered for “dye-infusion” printing. In this process, solid sublimation inks are first printed in mirror image on special transfer paper; the paper is then placed face-down on the fabric and subjected to 190-200 °C heat and medium pressure for 30-40 seconds. Under this thermal shock the dye by-passes the liquid phase and turns instantly into gas; the polyester fibers swell, allowing the gaseous pigments to penetrate the yarn core. When the fabric cools the fibers contract, locking the color inside the filament rather than merely on the surface.
